It's hard to believe that it's already Labor Day Weekend! Where did the summer go? Summer is officially over on Monday.... I'm officially back to school. I think I will really enjoy being at an 'early start' school. My day will start at 7:00 am and I get to go home at 2:30.... I'm hoping that I will be able to fit my quilting time in when I get home. I will miss my summer days spent in my jammies quilting and working on my patterns. So I am naming this month's block, 'End Of Summer'. I broke the design down to easy to do squares and triangle blocks.... I used a light, medium and dark fabric to complete 'End Of Summer'. This month's block can be found HERE and also on Craftsy. Remember the pattern is free for the month of September, after that there will be a small $1.99 fee for all past blocks. It's my sneaky way to keep everyone motivated each month. Organizing a BOM quilt also keeps me motivated too! Let me share with you a few pictures on how I put this month's block together...
I used three fabrics, a light, medium and dark to complete my block
I then cut the triangle sections apart. Then I iron the triangle square blocks
Trim the triangle square blocks to measure 2 1/2" squares.
I find it easier to piece a block if I lay it all out next to my sewing machine.
Here I have my block pieced in strips, all
ready to be pieced together.

Kerri has won a set of Grip and Stitch quilting disks from Clever Craft Tools, one of my sponsors. I am also including some fabric swatches which would be great for a scrappy project. Keep posting those pictures for your chance to win! More fun prizes are to come.
