Welcome to the last day of the Quilt Doodle BOM 2014 blog hop. It has been so much fun to see everyone's quilts. Today I am hosting Jill's quilt. She is a very talented quilter and I love how her 2014 BOM quilt turned out. Here's a note from Jill and pictures of her lovely quilt....
"This was my first BOM...the snowmen captured my attention, and I hoped this was a project I could complete! I enjoyed seeing the new pattern every month from Cindy, and I stayed on task, surprisingly, for the entire project! :) I do plan to add more quilting and embellishments in the next few months-I wanted to display the quilt for the holidays, and time got away from me.

I made this quilt for me, however all 3 of my daughters-in-law want to claim it as their own! Which of course makes me pretty happy! We'll see how this plays out, but I hope to make 2 more winter quilts and gift one to each of them.
I changed a few of Cindy's blocks to make my quilt more winter, rather than Christmas so I could use it all winter. I put the row of skates aside to use on the back of my quilt, and when it came time to piece the backing, my skate blocks were nowhere to be found! I completed my quilt, and while cleaning/ organizing my sewing room prior to holiday company, guess what I found??? Yep, the skate blocks! I will use them on Cindy's 2015 BOM, so I am already ahead of schedule, right? :)
Thank you very much, Cindy, for sharing your time and talent with us! Can't wait to see our 2015 quilt take shape!"
Let's leave Jill some sweet comments and remember to visit today's bloggers... I will be announcing winners tomorrow.

Hi Jill. Your quilt looks so pretty hanging up! And the wintery idea is good for enjoying it for the whole season! Love your special touches with the snowflakes, moose and row of little trees too.
ReplyDeleteI love how you made the quilt your own. Lots of fun embellishments and changes to make it a beautiful winter quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the block with the different blue background with the yellow moon. It really catches the eye. The moose is awesome. Just gorgeous -- especially where you put it. The hockey skates may also make a cute table runner. (But then again it's nice to be ahead on the other things.) Congrats on a beautiful finish.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful I love the subtle colors
ReplyDeleteLove how it turned out and it looks like your daughter-in-laws thought the same thing. They know something wonderful when they see it.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish, Jill! I love your fabric choices.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful "finish" BOM...that alone should make one proud. It is adorable!
ReplyDeleteA great quilt! I love the moose in particular, along with the fact that you can hang it up! Great fabric choices too. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteJill, this might be the best one yet! Live your fabric choices and embellishment!
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed seeing all the finished quilts. My is about 3/4 finished. I love it already!
ReplyDeleteI really like your quilt. It was because of yours that I realized that I didn't have to put on a border and it would still look good! I especially like your moose!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful hanging up, and I love the row of snowflakes. Very beautiful version of a neat design.
ReplyDeleteJill, love your interpretation.
ReplyDeleteCindy, While I did not participate in the 2014 BOM, I did come across the tree blocks on a post bt the academic quilter. I loved the tree and figured out the pattern by counting the blcks. I'd done a similar heart blame ck ladt year for Valentine's Day. So I made your tree block into a wall hanging and a quilting friend covets it so much that I'll be makng one for her for Christmas this year. Thanks for the inspiration.
My kind of colors. Nice!
