Designers Quilt Show

Hi! I'm so glad that you could stop by! I am thrilled to be one of todays featured designers.  If you haven't been here before, let me introduce myself. I'm Cindy, mother of two grown sons, wife, Basset Hound owner, quilt designer and the quilter behind Quilt Doodle Designs. I love what I do and I'm so lucky that my family supports it too. I live in Minnesota in the southern metro of the Twin Cities. We actually had 8" of snow on Easter!

During this uncertain time, I have found that quilting is my saving grace. I have been spending hours in my studio sewing. I have been finishing UFO's, making facemasks, designing some new quilts too. Time spent in my sewing room calms my nerves. I was so thrilled to join the Designers Quilt Show because we all need something fun to do to connect with others while we are all hidden away in our homes. So let me share with you some of my favorite projects and quilts.
Camper Celebration is a delightful mini quilt. In this version I used a mosqito print for the background. It makes me smile with the free flowing flags. Reminds me of summertime...

Going Batty is one of my most popular designs. It's a fun project to make for Halloween. These sweet bats can be used as mug rugs to give to your friends. I like to string them together and make a Batty garland to drap across my fireplace mantel.

I am known for my applique designs, here are a few of my favorites! These fun designs can be put on tea towels, or added to a quilt block. Let your imagination go! These sweet designs are adorable of many projects such as bags, table runners and aprons.
~ Snowman Snow Globe ~
This is a BOM quilt program that I designed for Marcus Fabrics. The center panel can either be left plain or embroidered. The quilt features a fabric panel that I designed. The panel is surrounded by star quilt blocks using Marcus Fabrics Primo Plaids New Blues. It's such a warm snuggly quilt. This BOM program is available thru participating quilt shops thru Marcus Fabrics.

~ Star Gazing ~
This is a great pattern for a beginner quilter. The rail fence blocks are perfect for piecing. The applique snowflakes are easy to do. This quilt easily can be pieced in a weekend. It features my Snow Globe Panel from Marcus Fabrics. On my sample quilt, I did not embroider the panel.

~ Garden Sunshine ~
This quilt was inspired by my love of gardening. It was a BOM that was featured on my blog a couple of years ago. The complete pattern is available on my website.

~ Woodland Getaway BOM ~
This is a BOM quilt program that I designed for Marcus Fabrics. I had so much fun drawing this design up. This design was inspired by our many fishing trips and time spent at the lake. The center panel can either be left plain or embroidered. The quilt features a fabric panel that I designed. The panel is surrounded by tree quilt blocks using Marcus Fabrics Primo Plaids Lumberjacks. The quilt panel has some added elements too that you can make into mug rugs or mini quilts. There is also a deer, moose or bear that you can feature in your Woodland Getaway quilt.  It's such a warm snuggly quilt. This BOM program is available thru participating quilt shops thru Marcus Fabrics.
~ Blue Ribbon BOM ~
This is a BOM quilt program that I designed for Marcus Fabrics. This quilt was inspired by my memories of my grandparent's farm. Many of the elements in this quilt reminds me of grandma and grandpa's farm. My grandma could grow anything and she had a beautiful garden. When ever we visited there were usually a littler of kittens to cuddle. The Blue Ribbon panel can either be left plain or embroidered. The panel is surrounded by various sampler blocks and embroidered elements (also found on the Blue Ribbon Panel) blocks using Marcus Fabrics Aunt Grace's Apron by Judie Rothermel.  This BOM program is available thru participating quilt shops thru Marcus Fabrics.

~ Chester's Wagon Ride ~
I had so much fun making this quilt, I'm in love with the Scottie block in this quilt. I used the main section of the Blue Ribbon panel for the center of the quilt. Chester's all ready to go on a wagon ride. I did not embroider the panel featured in this quilt.

This is one of my all time favorite pictures. It features a chenille quilt that I designed for Olfa a couple of years ago.
