February's Prize

Guess what I'm doing today! Lynn and I are having a quilting day at my house. I'm so excited! The tables are set up, power strips are plugged in and ready to go. I've made a big pot of chili and have put out a snack table for us. The teapot is ready to make some tea.  I know we will have a fabulous time! It's super cold outside so the fireplace is going. It's a perfect day to get together and sew. I hope to have some fun to share with you in a day or two.

We are only a few block into the BOM 2015 and I hope that you are having fun with it so far.  I'm loving the blocks that have been posted so far in the flickr group. So let me tell you all about the giveaway for this month... Thank you Nothcott Fabric for your generous donation for this month's prize. A  Stonehenge fabric pack! Dark Neutral Stone Strips includes 40 2 1/2" x 42" strips of fabric. Stone Strips includes one duplicate of each print. To enter to win you need to post this month's finished blocks to the
Quilt Doodle BOM flickr group

It's not too late to start and join the fun. Last month's pattern is available on Craftsy and Etsy for a small fee and this month's pattern is available for FREE HERE! and also HERE

Here are some of the great teapots that have been posted so far. Aren't they cute!

Something to keep in mind.... if you are planning on sending your quilt off to be quilted or if you are doing the quilting yourself, you aren't going to work around the buttons. When I photograph my blocks, I lay the buttons in place on the block. After I take my picture, I put the buttons in a little baggie until after my quilt is done and quilted. What's nice is I have a photo for reference for where I wanted the buttons sewn. In fact, any embellishments go in the baggie until the quilt is quilted.... yo-yo's, buttons, beads etc....
A printable supply list can be found HERE!
Cutting instructions and quilt construction for the quilt can be found HERE!
There's a flicker group!  Please join...Every month post photos of your Quilt Doodle BOM finishes in the BOM flicker group for a chance to win this month's prize! Woot woot!

The next block pattern will be posted on March 1st!  The winner for the February block will be announced on March 1st also.

Happy quilting,

Don't forget to grab the button too and post on your blog! The more the merrier!

  1. Loving the blocks. Saving them for later since I'm in the middle of a move from TX to IL. Bet you had great fun and laughter with Lynn.

  2. I am really enjoying this. Thank you again for all the hard work you do to put it all together!

  3. Whew! Just finished February's block, and with little time to spare....that Stonehenge fabric would be LOVELY to win! Even if I don't, however, this BOM is a delight in itself. Can't wait to see the March block! Thanks for the project!
