I'd love to understand paper piecing. I've tried and failed.

    ReplyDelete
  113. What a wonderful give-a-way! I wondered if you could do a series on how to correct mistakes? What if the applique doesn't stay put? What if there are wrinkles in your block? Are there simple fixes, besides ripping them all apart, to make things better? Or perhaps quilting techniques could be discussed? Do you use different colored threads? Do you go over what you've appliqued down, or just go around those parts? etc.

That is all I could come up with. I did your BOM last year and haven't finished it yet, but oh my, it has been a fun one!

Thanks for having such a sweet give-a-way!

  154. I have yet to figure out how to cut strips, even smaller squares, in a straight line. It looks straight when I cut, but when I go to make the next cut I can tell the edge is no longer straight. Not so much the folded edge, but the end farthest away from me tends to curve out. I've tried everything! I hold my ruler flat, try to keep my blade going up the edge all the way to the end, all to no avail. A tutorial on how to cut without wavy edges would be great as I have yet to find one that actually addresses this issue.
