Halloween Haunts!!!

Halloween Haunt 2015

Boo!!! Trick or Treat.... Smell my Feet.... Give me something good to eat.....
When I was a kid, we used to chant this as we went from house to house. I remember us all running around the neighborhood in our costumes. One year I was a robot... I made my costume out of a refrigerator box wrapped in tin foil. I had a small slit cut to see out of and a 'deposit candy here' opening with a pillowcase hooked to the inside of the box to catch the candy. This was one of those costumes that in theory was awesome, but the practicality of it.... not so brillaint. I could barely navigate front steps. It was hilarious! I thought it looked like a robot, but I'm sure I just looked like a huge box wrapped in tin foil hobbling down the street. It turned out to be unseasonably warm that year... so I baked inside of my toasty box... I could have been a microwave!
Halloween last year, my sweetie and I.
We are supposed to be Ragnar and Lagertha, but
I'm afraid we look more like Hagar the Horrible and Helga...lol...

So let's get to some spooky fun! I can't wait to show you my fun project! I made a bunch of Bat Mats... they are so stinkin cute and are a great way to use up leftover scraps of Halloween fabric.

Flower Power!

Last spring I had the privilege to work with Camelot Fabrics and design a quilt to go with some of their fabric. So I came up with this cute girlie quilt. Being a child from the 70's , (I was 13 in 1975) I wanted  to design something that reminded me of my childhood. The era of Teen Beat, peace signs, and flower power! This quilt uses their Petite Plume fabric line. The pattern is a FREE PDF download on their website. So have fun and remember the days of VW buses, peace signs, and astro pops.

Happy quilting,

Halloween Haunts 2015

Halloween Haunt 2015

I love Halloween, it's one of my favorite holidays. Wilson and I dress up and pass out candy to the neighborhood kids. I am especially excited that Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. In celebration, and to get me into the spirit of the holiday I joined the 'Halloween Haunts Blog Hop 2015 which is hosted by Marian at Seams To Be Sew. My day is October 20th and I'm finishing up a couple of fun items to show you! Another super exciting thing to tell you about is that there is going to be a $25 gift certificate given away each day of the hop! WOW! Thank you Fat Quarter Shop !! and Thank you Marian for all of your hard work organizing this fun, spooky Halloween Blog Hop! (The complete listing is down below.)

October's Block is Here!

Fall has arrived, the mornings are cooler here in Minnesota. I'm enjoying the cooler weather. The trees are starting to change, some of the trees are so pretty but we are far from peak color. I'm looking forward to a wonderful weekend ahead with perfect weather. This month's block features a pumpkin, oak leaves and a sweet kitty. All favorites! My sister has a sweet litter of kitties that I have enjoyed seeing pictures of. They are sooooo adorable and I'm thinking Wilson might need a friend...

This month's block is a fun block to put together. Feel free to make the kitty any color you would like. You can even give the pumpkin a face if you would like. That would be so very cute.
