Quilt Doodle BOM 2015

Quilt Doodle Doodles
I find so much enjoyment in planning a new BOM each year. This is the third one that I have planned for you. I am so excited to present this one! The quilt is a collection of all of my favorite things. There is no paper piecing in this quilt, but there will be  machine applique and a tiny little bit of embroidery.  The blocks are what you expect from Quilt Doodle Designs.... they are fun applique patterns. I will have a tutorial posted on the Doodle Blog along with links to the pattern included each month.  The monthly patterns will be FREE during the month that they are announced, after that they will be available for a small fee. In December we will piece the sections together and  put on borders and finishing touches. I'm letting you in on the quilts layout (see below)... see all of the blank spaces. Oh, I love blank areas to fill up with some fun applique. Don't fret if you are new to applique... this will be a fun quilt to work on and I will help you along with some tips...

Now here's the fun part, picking out the fabric... You can make this quilt scrappy by using fabric from your stash. You will need the 5 yards of cream background fabric for sure if you do it scrappy. You can 'wing' the rest if you want to bust your stash. Do know there are no fabric police, you can change up colors as you see fit. Have fun!

Finished measurement 57” x 82”

Small print fabric or tone on tone fabrics work best for
this quit. Yardage… is an estimate with extra added in.

5 yards background  and border– cream
1 ½ yards blue/turquoise
1 ½” yards red (binding included)

Material for applique designs- 1 fat quarter each color;
Yellow
Orange
Pink
Green
White
Grey
Tan
Brown
Blue
Red
Backing – 5 yards
Dark brown or black thread for machine appliqué

Skein DMC floss to match blue/turquoise fabric

A printable supply list can be found HERE!

Fabric kits are available HERE!

There's a flicker group!  Please join...Every month post photos of your Quilt Doodle BOM finishes in the BOM flicker group for a chance to win that month's prize! Woot woot!

Don't forget to grab the button too and post on your blog! The more the merrier! The code for the button can be found below.

If you want to be added to the email reminder list... send me your email.

The first block pattern will be posted on January 1st!  The give-away for the January block will be announced on January 15th and a winner will be picked on the 31st....

Happy quilting,
