July's Block ~ Christmas Socks!

Happy 4th of July!
It's been a busy weekend for me. We've been to a wedding, I had a quilty day with my bestie, Lynn and my hubby and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary. Oops, I almost forgot, I went shopping with mom yesterday! It's been busy! I hope you are having a wonderful 4th of July weekend too!
July’s Block… Christmas Socks!
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care….
It’s Christmas in July! It’s easy to keep cool and work on our Christmas quilt with the air conditioning going and a tall glass of iced tea. These are cute Christmas socks and they are fun to make. I made the cuff and heel using two green fabrics to create a checkerboard look. If you used several greens it will have a scrappier look for your quilt. Either way, they are super cute! I made three blocks to finish up this row (plus some extra for another project- wink- wink)
I have all of the pieces laid out and ready for piecing.

I like to 'chain' sew and do it whenever I can fit it in.

In this picture, you can see I have the checkerboard cuff
and heel pieced. In the directions I have you make 'triangle squares'
for the cuff and heel.

But... I sewed 'corner to corner' after I had constructed
the checkerboard section.

Here I'm ready to finish putting the block together....

I made my blocks all the same. You could switch up the fabrics if you want a scrappier quilt.
I had fun making this block. You will need to make 3 for the quilt.
The pattern can be found for FREE this month in my Craftsy Shop and also on my website. Also, if you ever need to find past blocks or tutorials, I have a tab at the top of my blog labeled 2016 BOM that you can click on to get links to all past blog postings for this quilt. A complete listing of fabric supplies can be found on my website, Craftsy Shop and also under the 2016 BOM tab on my blog. Remember to post pictures of your progress on Instagram #quiltdoodledesignsBOM2016 (you can also tag me at Quilt Doodle Designs) There is also a flickr group you can join and post pictures.

Button packs are available in my Etsy Shop. I have packaged the button packs a couple of different ways. Either as one big pack with everything in it or individually for each design/row.

There's also a handy dandy grab-able button to post on your blog to help me promote and get the word out about this fun Christmas BOM .  Please help to spread the word!

Happy 4th! I'm off to celebrate my wedding anniversary with hubby. We're planning on a day touring the local vineyards in our area. It is a beautiful day and perfect for some celebrating!

 Happy Quilting!

  4. I have some sewing buddies, too. Seems as soon as I put a pieced top on the coach to look at it, up jumps one of our three puppies to inspect close hand. Love your creations!
