Rhubarb Blueberry Jam

In Minnesota we love our rhubarb. I have a couple of plants but I don't like to use mine for jam since it's the 'green' variety. My mom had the pretty ruby red kind, so when she gave me some rhubarb last week I just had to make some Rhubarb Blueberry Jam. It's a quick and easy jam to make and sooooo gooooood. If you aren't a rhubarb fan, this recipe might change your mind. The blueberry pie filling gives this recipe a wonderful blueberry flavor.

My yummy jam cooking away... it smells so good.

To make my jars pretty I tied some bakers twine around
the jars. Homemade jam makes a wonderful gift to give.

I am going to enjoy my homemade jam on a toasted bagel!

Happy Quilting!

    1. I usually find canned pie filling in the baking isle in the grocery store. It comes in apple, cherry and blueberry. I have also seed recipes that use 2 cups of fresh blueberries in place of the canned blueberry pie filling. You would need to cook the jam a bit longer.

  2. Rhubarb is expensive here in California. My kids and grandkids are all born and raised here but everyone's favorite pie is rhubarb. So when we go to Wisconsin to visit my husband's family we come back with a suitcase full of rhubarb to chop and freeze as well as jars of rhubarb jelly. my favorite is a rhubarb cranberry version but we can't always find it in the summer.
