Nancy Drew

Today is my day to show you what I made... It's no mystery.... It's an easy project.  The fabric was so much fun to work with.... I used a Charm pack When I saw the fabric I knew I had to make my supervisor/Media Specialist/friend a charm square tote!  So I searched the web for a tutorial and I based my tote on this tutorial. I roughly followed it using my own measurements based on my charm square pack. I used each and every square! I found navy blue and black fabric from my stash for the handles and lining. Working on this project brought back memories of reading Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys as a young girl. I have to admit I really didn't know if this project would turn out.  But happily I like the results and I think Kathryne will enjoy toting books to and from the library in her new  Nancy Drew book bag!

We have an original set of Nancy Drew's in our school library. We refuse to weed them out of the collection because we love them so. They are old and well read.  Pages are dog eared and yellowed with age. We keep hoping that some young reader will discover them on the shelf and enjoy them as much as we did when we were kids.
